mOVIN’ MAMAS FAQ

Q. How do I join?

It’s easy! Simply email info@movinmamas.com to request a class for you and your friends

Q. What is your rain policy?

If there is a greater than 50% chance of rain predicted @ the designated class time, then we will reschedule. Otherwise, we’ll take a chance and hope for the best.

Q. What is your cancellation / make-up class policy?

We understand that things happen – you didn’t sleep at all last night or your baby just had his/her shots and is running a fever, etc. We therefore allow one make-up class, usually to be taken during the next class series with exact dates TBD.

Q. Do I need a special stroller?

Many members prefer jogging strollers, but any sturdy stroller that is not prone to tipping will do.  Umbrella strollers are not recommended.

Q. What else do I need?

You need a mat or blanket (we highly suggest to buy water-resistant materials or bring a garbage bag to put underneath the mat to keep you and your baby dry when the ground is damp). We also suggest bringing a baby blanket to rest your baby on when using the mat yourself, along with water, sunscreen and even a baseball cap to keep the sun out of your eyes and off your face.

Q. Do you use equipment?

A band and small, inflatable Triad ball (Pilates ball) are yours to keep for group class participants. Your instructor will bring props for semi-private and private sessions.

Q. How old should my kids be?

As long as you have your doctor’s permission, you can come right after your six week postpartum checkup. There is no age limit on kids, as long as they still enjoy riding in a stroller. Pregnant women are also welcome as long you have your doctor’s note.

Q. What if my baby is fussy?

Don’t worry – we’ve all been there!  No one will care if your baby is fussy, and it is easy to catch up if you need to stop for a diaper change or feeding.

Q. What are the instructor’s credentials?

Randi is certified in Pilates and pre- and post-natal fitness. Please read her bio for more information.

Q. Can this class be too challenging or not challenging enough?

Movin’ Mamas is open to all fitness levels. The class can be as easy or challenging as you make it.  We have modifications to simplify most exercises, limiting range of motion and intensity and just as many to up the ante!

Q. I’m a Daddy who wants to get fit too! Can I come alone with my baby or join my wife?

Yes! Dads are welcome!

Q. I’m a nanny, babysitter, or grandparent who wants to get fit too! Can I join the class?

Yes, of course! We’d love to have you.
